When I Turn 30

“What do you want to be when you are 30?” my 7 year old nephew asked while we were in the jeepney on the way home.

I got lots of failures in life apart from those I cannot remember but as time goes by I figured out something. Getting stuck or moving forward from those failures will actually do you nothing, c’est la vie, it happened and in reality, there isn’t like an Eye of Agamotto to turn back time. Not that I suggest to assent with misfortunes and shortcomings but if I did my best yet I failed according to the standards then what else do I expect?

Failure, as much as it hurts, is an important part of life. In fact, failure is necessary (that's according to the website here). Failure is actually an important part of life that I can even remember some.
  1. I failed to finish my Bachelor’s Degree.
  2. I failed to work in an IT company abroad because of number 1.
  3. I failed to take mom to USA 3 years after I graduated from college because of number 1 and 2.
  4. I failed to quit smoking after several attempts. Plan F on the making.
  5. I failed to fulfill several items from my bucket list this year.
  6. I failed to do the laundry early this morning because of this blog entry.
  7. I failed to continue this list of failures at least until number 10.
  8.
  9.

They have this optimistic and pessimistic thingy. When you think of an unfortunate event because you wanted to avoid it beforehand someone might think you're a pessimist rather than you're only taking precautions which is very optimistic. Confused? Same same. For now, a lot of things may happen and there will be a lot of failures to come but of course, success will always follow.

To answer my nephew, I told him that I will have to find out when I turn 30. You know, like crossing the bridge when I get there.
