Count Me Out

There are different people in this world – different behavior, different personality, different opinion, and everything is just different because that’s how it should be. I have all the option to avoid those that I can’t get along with but when it comes to being in the same place almost every day, now that’s another story. Let me talk about work. At first, I can’t deny that I do enjoy the company of my colleagues – eating out together, chilling out, and talk about of nonsense which actually helps build the foundation of our friendship aside from being workmates. But as times goes by there were things I observed, things that I really hate the most – betrayal of trust.

I, myself always try to be as honest as possible because there’s no point in being deceitful. It was later I realized that it isn’t the circle I want to be in. Talking behind someone’s back, putting someone’s name in shame, and instead of starting a conversation where everyone can relate and participate they’d rather start a topic of someone over and over again. While I know that it’s normal in Filipino culture but I have enough stress in life. I can’t waste my energy on something that will never benefit me, I may be a hypocrite for saying so but if you dislike someone then don’t talk about them, put them out of your system, and don’t make them feel you’re in good terms when you stab them a million times at their back.

That’s the reason I want to keep my distance. There’s no point of staying in the circle when I know for a fact they’d do the same to me. I’m not assuming that I’ll be a significant topic but I just don’t like that kind of personality. The kind of personality where you think you’re beyond perfection. Thanks but no thanks, just count me out.
