My Top 5 Daily Dose Of Fun

When I’m done checking my inbox and notifications on Facebook, I don’t usually stick around or scan through my newsfeed, even turn off my chat status as to avoid people who are really good at short-talk which I really hate. You see, I’m so talkative that I keep on blabbering even in my blog.

While it’s been obvious that the majority of internet users would visit Facebook to aid their undeniably daily dose of boredom, I have my Top 5 Daily Dose of Fun to counteract with. I’ve been following these sites a few years ago and they never fail in keeping the humor and lesson combined together. To start with:

1. XKCD – xkcd.com
I also wonder what it stands for but here’s what they said “It's not actually an acronym. It's just a word with no phonetic pronunciation -- a treasured and carefully-guarded point in the space of four-character strings.” There you have it. I’ve been reading webcomics from this site since 2009 with mostly stick-figure wherein the humor may not be that comprehensible as it talks about science, math, technology, and sarcasm all in one.
2. The Awkward Yeti – theawkwardyeti.com
This webcomic features the awkwardness of Lars, the Yeti, and his struggles to get in to social life. Aside from Lars, it also includes a variety of comics you can choose from which mostly personifies any stuff like coffee, food, TV, human organs, and anything that must be included in the story. Of course, my favorite is the inner conversation between the realistic-ever-rational Brain and the optimistic-ever-impulsive Heart.
3. Fake Science – fakescience.com
From the name of the website itself, it seems like it’s unreliable to visit it if the intention is to learn about science. Although it may be less factual than the actual science but the comicality is so hilarious you’d forget there’s logic and hidden truth behind each graphic they publish.

4. Did You Know? – didyouknowblog.com
I’m a fan of random facts and trivial knowledge since I can’t just focus on one field, so why not anything? The question is, is there anything on this universe that is real? No. I think we only give names and descriptions to the things for us to easily describe it. I mean, human evolution isn’t just about anatomical but also encompasses the cognitive learning of oneself, that is to know more.

5. Improbable Research – improbable.com
The website may sound boring, like who’d care much about research? Except that the research are the most strangely innovative, most bizarre, and most something to wonder with. Who’d ever thought that chickens prefer beautiful humans?

6. 9Gag – 9gag.com
For those who are familiar with 9Gag it may just be an avenue of funny pictures, GIFS, stories, memes, and sarcasms. But those are not published by the website owner itself but from its users, thus, you are reading someone’s personal experience and/or knowledge and the fact that the comment section can sometimes be more funny than the post. It’s like you’re in a party with strangers but needless of knowing each other since the fun itself connects a mutual understanding with everyone.

So, those are my medicine to keep the boredom away and to state the obvious, mostly it’s about Science. Yes! I’m a Science enthusiast but I do keep in my mind that “fact does not leave a room for possibility” that’s why it’s up to us whether we believe it or not to believe it. Nevertheless, a question is another question to a question. Don’t get confuse, life is short, you’d be wasting a few seconds of your life if you do.

    1. I also follow iflscience but only from their facebook page. Reddit seems to me like a sharing platform, sort of like pinterest and such... The rest I don't have any idea but I'll try to visit those some other time. Thanks for droppin' by :)
