There was this guy who became my friend and we’ve been known each other for a month but it seems like we’re childhood friends, it’s amazing how our friendship works this much. He’s not actually from here, I mean here in our small town but all the way from Midsayap, North Cotabato. He said when their close-neighbor went here in Davao City to have their summer vacation he’s been invited to come with them and so he did, he thought it was just a vacation but he found himself having fun during his stay so he decided to stay long.
He used to hang around on our local basketball court where we used to hang around also with my friends too. It took months I guess before we actually had our formal meeting when one night he asked me about some stuff through my friend’s recommendation. From that moment then every time he see me he always got something to ask until it falls to a long conversation, with a twist of jokes.
We are interacting a lot of the time, he’s born friendly I should guess, we talk on the phone, we talk personally, we hang around, we talk about everything that has something to do with anything. It’s just sad to hear that he’s not gonna stay here long enough, he said by Christmas season he must go back home. Oh, I’m gonna those happy days we had, the laughter we shared, and the learning I got from him about their dialect.
Disturbing how I think of when I’m being so attached to someone they would eventually leave me behind, at the same I was wondering why is it most of the people that I’m very close with are from countryside? I have friends in Suralha, Isulan, Malayabalay, Surigao, and now from Midsayap and all of them were true to me, unlike here in the city DUH! (but not all). People may laugh at me because of this; well I would love to if I were to be called a PROBINSYANO.
Thank you for having some time to read!
PS: I usually create the post body first before the title so sorry if it's kinda inappropriate. And I think label is unnecessary. LOL!
I also do the body first before the title.
ReplyDeleteI am also a provinsiyana and I also experienced the sadness when friends and family leaves to go back to their normal lives in the city. But I am glad I also experienced the happiness it gave me. Memories will last.
