At long last, I have finally experienced what it is like to board an airplane and travel from one place to another, and I’d say it was terrifyingly astonishing! I love traveling (my wallet doesn't), exploring new places, meeting new people, learning about their cultures, and being in awe of wonderful spots I thought I’d only see in pictures on the internet. Most of my travels have been by land and sea, which is why I was very hopeful and excited about my Siargao getaway. I had been yearning for this trip for three months since I booked the flight.
Onboard PAL flight 2395, I was seated right next to the window (PERFECT!), while my friend was seated behind me. I’m not sure how it happened; I just followed whatever he instructed me to do at the airport. Anyway, without an experienced person to talk to about the dos and don’ts of flying, I felt like my life was suddenly on the verge of extinction. I thought it could be my last day on Earth and even considered recording a farewell message to my loved ones. But thank God, it didn’t take long until I found the light at the end of the tunnel! THERE’S A GUIDE CATALOGUE RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, BEACHES! Suddenly, I felt the love and care of all the people who, to me, love and care? Yeah.
Soaring high in the sky with clouds so white and light so bright (huh?!) was one of the greatest experiences of my life. Back in the days when I was just a kid (fragile and innocent), whenever I heard that loud, roaring noise from above, I’d quickly run outside, gaze into the sky, and, while pointing at the airplane flying by, my friends and I would shout out loud, “ERPLIN! ERPLIN! ERPLIN!” Ugh, good ol’ days. Now that I’m inside the airplane (it makes me wonder if there’s a seaplane or a landplane
*UPDATE: Googled it, and lo and behold, there is!), I somehow felt the same feeling I had as a kid, with a little extra on the side. I saw structures so small they looked crumpled together, roads curving like snakes, hills and mountains at eye level, the VAAAAST OCEAN, lands dominated by the greenery of trees that I could almost feel the touch of fresh air, and the clouds: so fluffy, so white, so massive, and so majestic I can only imagine there could be another civilization out there. Like when I was a kid, my ignorance amuses me to the fullest it can. Next could be a rocket ship! LOL! That's it, my first-time ERPLIN experience!
