"A BIG FISH IN A SMALL POND." I read that comment when I visited MSNBC news about Spratly Island that's now very controversial about WHO'S THE REAL OWNER. Several countries including China, Vietnam, Malaysia, and my very own Philippines is claiming to the ownership of the island, but with all these countries it seems like China has the greater power above all when it comes to... WAR?
If you try to look at the map you can clearly see that Spratly Island is indeed far from the country of China, just sharing...
This news BUZZ the entire Philippines and was enforce to use the Philippines's Biggest Warship (frigate) Rajah Humabon that has been in combat since World War 2 to protect the area of responsibility of the Republic of the Philippines.
However, Philippines doesn't totally claim the whole Spratly Island but only its western section which is near to Palawan that is called Kalayaan Group of Islands, Brunei claims only the southern reef which is still underwater, Malaysia occupies five reefs, while China and Vietnam wants to claim the entire Archipelago.
But as the issue is getting HOT it has been reported that there are Chinese Warships/Vessels roaming around Spratlys. And once I saw this on TV news when a Chinese Submarine suddenly appeared on the surface and launched a missile that was exploded on the sea water, according to them it was just a test yest it's somehow like a challenge.
So, what if WAR will rise against nations? What can we do against CHINA? Surely we'll be defeated but worry no more Darna and Captain Barbell will definitely save us! Aw... Because of the rising tension Juan dela Cruz (Philippines) manage to call the help of Uncle Joe (USA) to negotiate between countries who is claiming the ownership of Spratlys. Fortunate we are that Uncle Joe will help us defend our country, according to State Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton.
If we can still remember very well, we Filipinos are so eager to remove the US Military Base in our country but why is it now that we are urgently asking for their help? Isn't that too ashame for us? Other's may say that we are in a practical world right now, and if this so-called practical world will to be like this, I would love to turn back from the time before Magellan discovered the Philippines.
Whatever it is, I just hope that this problem will end in a fair and peace solution. If they let us have what we are claiming for then that's a very good news, if not I hope they will change their mind.
Oh well! Thank you for having some time to read!
PS: This is a scheduled post. Because it doesn't work this time.
PS:
Hah! So true. Andaming ipokrito, ano? They want to basically throw away the Philippines-US friendship years ago, forcing the US troops out of the country, and then they ask for US help, years after. This is the best example of the quote "Kapag walang makukuha, deadma. Kapag merong kailangan, dun lang naaalala." Hay.. Some Pinoy nga naman..
ReplyDeleteI'm not really sure kung anong makokomento ko about the Spratly islands.. We claim that it's ours.. but then the Chinese disagrees..
let's hope that this wouldn't result to war. *fingers crossed.
P.S.
LOVE the new lay-out! So clean! ♥
